Five of the schools in Buena Park, CA have been named to the list of the healthiest schools in the nation.
In order to achieve this Federal award each school must offer breakfast daily, meet or exceed federal nutrition standards for snacks and meals, implement wellness policies and update progress every year, involve parents and community members and provide physical activity either before, during or after the school day.

Combatting childhood obesity and chronic disease such as diabetes is the primary goal of the program.
