Google My Business Reclaiming Feature Being Piloted

Google is testing a new feature that helps business owners to reclaim their Google My Business (GMB) listing.

According to Krystal Taing, “For anyone beginning to see this on your listings, it is a new #GMB feature. It does not mean your listing is unclaimed but is intended as an easier path to begin the claiming process for users that may have mislocated their account info.”

Some additional insight from Joy Hawkins, “I just realized though that you can see if a listing is verified or not by using an Incognito tab. If the ‘Own this business’ shows up while you’re logged out, it means the listing is unverified.”

Google Claim Feature

For those business owners who have misplaced or had someone else take the logon info, this seems to be another level in which to rectify the situation.

And in related news Google Maps is turning 15-years-old. I guess it’s finally time that I Deep-6 the Thomas Guide maps that have been sitting in the trunk of my car all these years! ?
